I think you should go for Desktop.
I m using laptop though, but will prefer desktop, coz laptop parts are very costly to repair or to buy new one. But desktop items can easily be bought and are easily available also in the market.
While if you want to download any movie, you cant leave your laptop turn on whole night but with Desktop there is no such problem.
